Clinical Specialties
Tracheostomy Care
Our nurses and Respiratory Therapists are skilled in all aspects of tracheostomy care, including suction techniques, patient positioning and optimal respiratory therapy. Daily assessments and treatments are based upon maintaining patient safety, facilitating communication and preventing complications.
Pain Management
Our team employs an evidence based approach to pain management that starts with pain assessment. Pain assessment in aging adults can be complicated by many factors including cognitive or functional impairments, speech disorders and the loss of motor and sensory function. A patient’s response to therapy interventions is a factor in determining underlying etiology, baseline function and pain tolerance. Our multi-disciplinary approach to assessing optimal pain management includes careful consideration of pharmacotherapy, psychological support, and physical and occupational rehabilitation.
Our therapists integrate a broad range of therapeutic modalities to treat pain including ultrasound, cold and heat therapy, whirlpool, and electrical stimulation. We offer comprehensive treatment plans that can help reduce pain and inflammation associated with both chronic and acute conditions.

Nutritional Management
Proper nutrition is vital to maintaining health, reducing the risk of disease and enabling medications to work effectively in the body. As we age, a diminished sense of taste and smell, difficulty chewing or digesting, and depression may all contribute to loss of appetite. Our Registered Dieticians know the importance of early intervention and collaboratively implement therapeutic diet plans that can ensure our patients have the best chance of recovery and rehabilitation.
Encouraging residents to eat and drink is at the core of our Feeding Assistant Program, a dining enhancement initiative that provides trained employees from all disciplines the opportunity to engage long term residents in social interaction, as well as improve nutrition and hydration intake.
Daily physical activity is harder to accomplish when physical mobility is limited, which may complicate existing medical conditions and contribute to obesity. Making positive lifestyle changes is not an easy task. Our multi-disciplinary team is here to help with the management of obesity through behavior modification, nutritional education and exercise.
Diabetes Care
Multi-disciplinary interventions are specifically tailored to treat the unique characteristics of diabetes in geriatric patients. Patient and family engagement in both clinical decisions and behavior management can help to effectively manage glycemic control, minimize complications and improve quality of life. Our facility offers a wide range of Diabetes support services including nutrition counseling, amputation therapies, Neuropathy treatment and medication management.
